Supervision
Offering a safe, reflective and culturally aware supervision space to trainee & qualified clinicians working with adults using a CBT approach.
Providing CBT supervision to clinicians is one of my growing interests and passions. If you would like supervision that facilitates learning, maintain a high level of practice and offers both a reflective space to enhance practice, then look no further.
What to expect
In supervision, you can expect me to model the fundamentals of CBT, as I believe this is an effective way to enhance your practice. Whether this be through modelling, role play or reviewing to recordings, I offer a flexible range of learning strategies. I use Kolb's learning cycle as a model for supervision.
Addressing relationships
As well as discussing the technical aspects of CBT, I believe examining the interpersonal relationship and therapeutic alliance can be just as important. In the face of setbacks and obstacles, I will support you and provide hope and perspective for the challenges you and your client are facing. This will be informed by a cultural lens through which we can examine the dynamics and implications for the relationship.
My Qualifications & background
Having completed the Supervision workshop with King's College London, I bring a comprehensive understanding of the techniques and theory behind helpful supervision for CBT therapists. I completed a BPS approved supervisor training with Canterbury Christ Church University, Salomons Institute for
Applied Psychology, meaning I can provide supervision for both clinical and counselling psychologists. I am keen to work with trainees of these professions who may need tailored and regular supervision. I currently provide clinical and management supervision in the NHS.
Helping you to meet client needs
Together, we'll make reference to your assessment, formulation and client goals to provide focus to your clinical practice and ensure that the client's needs are being met. With accurate conceptualisation of a client's problem(s) comes inspired treatment that meets the client's needs.
Enhancing learning
I offer continuous feedback in a sensitive, constructive and adaptable way, depending on your learning needs. I strive to promote a safe and open space for you to discuss your work with the client, but also your experiences too. By facilitating learning, I aim to help you to answer your supervision questions and provide you with further study where necessary.
How I offer supervision
I can accommodate for different frequencies of supervision, whether that is weekly, fortnightly, monthly or ad hoc. This can be in-person or online (via video call).
I'd love to hear from you!
